Had a Seiko 6R35 overhauled here after it started losing about two minutes a day. The condition report came back within two days — clear explanation of what was found, with the parts cost listed separately. Approved it, picked it up twelve days later. The timing result was included with the watch when I collected it. Running within five seconds now.

Brought in a vintage Omega Constellation with a badly scratched acrylic crystal. They sourced a matched replacement — took a few extra days but they called to let me know before it became a problem. The fit is exact and the pressure test result was noted on a small card tucked inside the caseback. Solid, honest work.

I was hesitant to hand over my late father's Tudor because I did not know much about watch service and was worried about being upsold. The person at the counter — Azri, I think — explained exactly what the overhaul involves and what it costs. Nothing added without asking. I felt like I was actually in control of the decision.

Walked in on a Tuesday to have my jubilee bracelet sized. Done within twenty minutes. They also noticed one of the link pins was beginning to wear and showed it to me — did not push me to replace it on the spot, just mentioned it as something to keep an eye on. That kind of straightforwardness is rare.

Brought a Grand Seiko in for gasket renewal after it fogged up after swimming. They re-tested water resistance after the work — I could see the actual result rather than just being told "it's fine now". Workshop is quiet and quite focused — not the kind of place to drop in for a long chat, but the work is what you are there for.

Third time using Detik Warisan — different watch each time. Consistency is what keeps me coming back. The inspection report format is the same each visit, the service record is the same, the collection process is the same. When you find a workshop that operates without surprises, you tend to stay with them.

Case Studies

Selected Client Situations

Case 01 · Movement Overhaul

Situation

A Longines automatic dating from 1974 arrived stopping intermittently and gaining roughly ninety seconds per day when worn. The owner had inherited it and did not know when it was last serviced — possibly never, based on the state of the lubricants.

Approach

Full disassembly, ultrasonic cleaning of all 167 components, mainspring barrel inspection (original spring retained — within specification), fresh lubrication applied to the 1965-era calibre chart. The keyless works required light fitting work due to wear.

Result

Completed in fourteen working days. Final timing: +4 seconds per day across six positions. The client received the condition report, service record and timing printout. Total cost: RM 740 including the keyless works fitting.

"I was not sure a fifty-year-old watch could still work reliably. The report explained what was worn and what was not. Knowing what was actually done — not just told it was 'serviced' — made the difference for me."

Case 02 · Crystal & Gasket Renewal

Situation

A daily-wear Tissot PRX arrived with a deeply scratched mineral crystal and a compromised crown gasket — evident from moisture that had entered the case during a swim. Movement was unaffected at the point of inspection, fortunately.

Approach

Matched mineral crystal sourced (three-day wait), crown and crown tube gaskets replaced, case-back gasket renewed. The case was cleaned without polishing — the client specifically asked for no cosmetic changes. Pressure tested to 100m rating after sealing.

Result

Completed in four working days. Pressure test confirmed to 10 bar. Written note on recommended gasket check intervals provided. Total cost: RM 380 including sourced crystal. Movement required no intervention.

"They called when the crystal arrived — I appreciated not being left wondering. The test result card was a small thing but it felt like evidence rather than a claim."

Case 03 · Bracelet & Strap Fitting

Situation

An Oris Aquis with the factory rubber strap — the owner wanted a leather strap for office wear but was unsure of the lug width and nervous about removing the spring bars on the rubber. Also brought the original bracelet for resizing as it had been purchased from another owner and was too large.

Approach

Lug width confirmed at 22mm. Client chose a tan leather strap from the samples available. Rubber strap removed carefully — original spring bars retained and reused. Bracelet sized by removing three links and reinserting with new pins; three links returned to client in a small bag.

Result

Completed same day, approximately forty minutes total including the consultation. Both bracelet and strap fitted correctly, wrist comfort confirmed before collection. Total cost: RM 185 (bracelet work RM 120, leather strap RM 65).

"I expected to leave the watch and come back. Instead it was done before I had finished the short walk nearby. The strap choice was mine — they showed options without steering me."
