1. Introduction
Detik Warisan ("we", "us", "our") operates a watch repair workshop at 27 Jalan Sultan Ismail, 50250 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. We are committed to handling the personal data of visitors to our website and clients of our workshop with care and transparency.
This policy describes what data we collect, how we use it, how we protect it, and what rights you have under Malaysian law, in particular the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA). For questions about this policy, contact us at [email protected].
2. Data We Collect
We collect personal data only when you provide it through the website contact form or when you visit the workshop in person. The data we may collect includes:
- Full name
- Email address
- Phone number (if provided voluntarily)
- Watch details provided in the enquiry (brand, calibre, reported symptom)
- Service records associated with your watch(es)
We also collect non-personal technical data through cookies and analytics tools, including browser type, referring pages and general location data (country level). See Section 5 for details.
3. Legal Basis for Processing
Under the PDPA 2010, we process your personal data on the following grounds:
- Contract performance: To respond to service enquiries and carry out watch repair work you have requested.
- Legitimate interests: To maintain service records that allow us to reference the history of a piece if it is returned for further work.
- Consent: For any optional marketing communications, where you have expressly agreed to receive them.
4. How We Use Your Data
Personal data collected through this website and our workshop is used for the following purposes:
- Responding to your service enquiry within one working day
- Providing a written condition report and quote for the work requested
- Contacting you if the timeline or scope of approved work changes
- Maintaining an internal service record for watches we have worked on
- Complying with legal obligations where applicable
We do not use your data for unsolicited marketing. We do not sell or rent your data to third parties. We do not share your data with third parties except where required by law or necessary to provide the service (for example, sourcing a specific part from a supplier — in which case only the technical watch details are shared, not your contact information).
5. Cookies and Analytics
Our website uses a small number of cookies to keep the site functioning and, where you consent, to collect anonymised usage data. Essential cookies cannot be disabled as they are needed for the site to operate. Optional analytics cookies help us understand which pages are visited most. You can manage your cookie preferences at any time via our Cookie Policy page.
6. Data Retention
Contact details from website enquiries that do not result in a service are deleted within ninety days of the last communication. Service records for completed work are retained for seven years in order to support future service visits and, where relevant, insurance documentation. You may request deletion of your data at any time — see Section 7.
7. Your Rights
Under the PDPA 2010 and applicable Malaysian consumer protection provisions, you have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Deletion: Request that we delete your personal data, subject to our legal retention obligations.
- Objection: Object to processing carried out on the basis of legitimate interests.
- Withdrawal of consent: Where processing is based on consent, withdraw that consent at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected]. We will respond within fourteen working days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Department of Personal Data Protection Malaysia.
8. Data Protection Measures
Personal data submitted through this website is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. Data stored on our systems is access-controlled and accessible only to workshop personnel with a direct operational need. We do not retain payment card data — transactions are processed through separate secure payment infrastructure.
In the event of a data breach that presents a risk to individuals, we will notify affected persons and, where required by law, the relevant authority without undue delay.
9. Third-Party Links
This website may contain links to external pages — for example, to mapping services or supplier pages. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third-party sites and encourage you to review their policies independently.
10. Children's Privacy
Our services are intended for persons aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from individuals under 18. If you believe a minor has submitted data through this website, please contact us and we will remove it promptly.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in how we handle data or to comply with updated legal requirements. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of our website following any revision constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
